Doha Central Beautification Documentary

With Qatar 2022 approaching, Doha Central was under major beautification and infrastructure works, bringing diversions, dust, noise, and congestion. Ashghal, Qatar’s Public Works Authority, was receiving complaints through emails and mobile lines, so they hired Core Studios to produce a local-TV documentary film explaining what was happening and its future benefits. Once we understood the real purpose, we convinced Ashghal to drop the formal government format and turn it into an investigation led by Khalid Al Jumaily, the familiar Qatari presenter known for his educational documentaries. Over 15 consecutive days, he investigated the works through Ashghal, ministries, consultants, specialists, and construction sites, while our team filmed in safety gear inside holes and aqueducts, captured drone footage, built 3D current-vs-future comparisons, created X-ray views of underground infrastructure, and filmed the presenter from a virtual studio. The film showed residents not only the process, but what Doha would become after it. Our reward went beyond the positive feedback from client: a letter of appreciation confirmed complaints dropped by 90%. That’s when we knew our concept had hit the target.
